The Knight Riders, on the other hand, would like to build some momentum after their triumph over Kings XI Punjab on Friday.

The KKR side will look to keep up their good batting effort in order to pose a strong challenge at the Chepauk.

Half way through the league, CSK are placed comfortably at the second spot with five wins in their eight games while the KKR have just won three in as many matches.

KKR will once bank their opening to give them a flourishing start, followed by solidity from veteran South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis.

And with Eoin Morgan proving destructive in the latter half of the innings, KKR would be aware that they have the firepower to humble the Super Kings.

Yusuf Pathan`s poor form has been a big worry for the defending champions as the swashbuckling batsman has been flop in the tournament so far. In eight matches, he has just 105 runs against his name.

You could be forgiven to have thought that Facebook and Google had put aside their rivalries and become BFFs after the launch of Facebook Home and the HTC First. However, it didn’t take long for one side to strike the other, with Google making the move to update the Play Store policy and ban developers from bypassing the official update mechanism.

Facebook opened a can of worms when they added a feature in one of their latest releases that allowed them to auto-update their app on certain users’ devices for beta testing purposes. I remember getting the option to enable it and being absolutely flabbergasted that they even considered it OK to do so (if it was opt-out with no information shared, I’d probably have quit Facebook entirely despite my sister now working with them).

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware update for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 is out now and you can flash it manually using the old familiar Odin method. We know well that many of you must be dying to get the latest update on your Galaxy Note 2. If you do not have patience enough to wait for the update till it hits your device, you can download the firmware from our links and flash it right away manually using Odin.

If you are new to this flashing stuff, you need not worry as we have a carefully written tutorial for you that will help you through it all. All you need is to follow the steps described below carefully and your device will be upgraded to Android 4.1.2.

1. Download the firmware N7100XXDLK7_N7100PRTDLK5_PRT.zip  and extract the zip with a zip archiver. Inside the extracted folder, you will find  N7100XXDLK7_N7100PRTDLK5_PRT_HOME.tar.md5 file.
2. Download Odin3_v3.04.zip and extract it to your desktop.
3. Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your computer if you have not installed it yet.
4.  Charge you Note 2 to 70% battery level at least.
5. Backup your contacts, call-logs, messages, APNs, bookmarks, calendar, apps & games using these nice free apps.
6. Turn on USB Debugging from Settings> Developer options
7. Turn off you phone and boot it into Download/Odin Mode: press and hold Volume Down and Home (center) keys simultaneously and then long press the Power key till you see a screen that prompts you to press the Volume Up key to continue.
8. Press the Volume Up key to enter the Download Mode.
9. Now open the Odin folder that you downloaded in Step 2 and run the .exe file present there.
10. When the Odin is launched, connect your Galaxy Note 2 to the computer via USB cable and wait till the ID:COM box at Odin turns light green. It shows that your device has been detected by the program.
11. Make sure that only F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot boxes are checked on Odin. Do NOT check any other item.
12. Now click on the PDA button and select the N7100XXDLK7_N7100PRTDLK5_PRT_HOME.tar.md5 file.
13. Take a deep sigh and click on the Start button on Odin to start the installation. It might take about 5-8 minutes for the installation to finish.
14. Finally, you will get a PASS! message on the ID:COM box and then you device will reboot automatically.
15. Your device will reboot with the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware installed on it. Cheers!
16. In case, you installed the latest stock firmware over a custom firmware, you might get a boot-loop. If it is the case with you, open the back cover of your Note 2 and pull out the battery. Wait from 10 seconds and reinsert it back to its place. Then press Volume Up+Home+Power keys to enter ASR (Android Stock Recovery) mode and wipe data/factory reset. Then reboot the device. Now it should reboot normally.
17. You have just installed the official Android 4.1.2  update to your Samsung Galaxy Note 2. All you can do now is to enjoy.

We are always eager to upgrade our phone to the latest version so that we might enjoy the new features and apps that come with a new update. Ask a Galaxy S2 user how keen he is get the Jelly Bean firmware update. While most of times we are happy with the new things introduced in an update, it also happens sometimes all our hopes are undone when we have to face a bug or lack of a favorite  feature that we used to enjoy on an older firmware.

It happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I updated my Galaxy Note 2 to the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. For some days I remained busy with exploring the new features and enjoying them. It was later that realized that there was something wrong with the WiFi connectivity. Everything else was just fine but this issue was great enough to make me think again. “What should I do now?”- I kept thinking. Then I decided to try another firmware in a hope that it might solve the problem. But again the same WiFi bug! With Android 4.1.1 on my Note 2, I was happier, so I downloaded the Android 4.1.1 firmware and flashed it.

How many of you ever wished to downgrade the firmware of your Android phone? Only a few. The present article is for those fews who are looking a way to go back to Gingerbread from Ice Cream Sandwich,  to Ice Cream Sandwich from Jelly Bean, or from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.1.1. The tips described below will also be helpful to even those who want to downgrade their Samsung Galaxy device to Gingerbread from Ice Cream Sandwich.

Please note that the method described here has been tested (by me, more than once) on Galaxy S3 (Android 4.1.2 to ICS), Note 2 (Android 4.1.2 to 4.1.1) and Galaxy S2 (ICS to GB). I have not been able to test for downgrading to GB from JB. All the same, I would like to warn you that the procedure is considered risky. Proceed only if you understand the gravity of such things and make sure you are not drunk while following up the steps. We’ll not be responsible for any data loss or damage done to your device.

Those willing to downgrade their Galaxy device to Gingerbread from Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean should not follow the method given here unless you have the firmware files with Bootloader or PIT. In case you have a PIT file for your device model, select it while installing the firmware and do not forget to check “Re-Partition” on Odin.  We warn you against proceeding with the single file installation method as described below.

However, if you are to downgrade to a lower version of Gingerbread from a higher version of GB ( from Android 2.3.7  to 2.3.3, for example), you can follow this tutorial.

The firmware downgrade drill for the Samsung Galaxy devices is not much complicated as compared to the phones manufactured by other brands. It requires you to boot the device first into Download/Odin Mode, and then into Android Recovery Mode. I hope many of you would be acquainted with both the methods. Even if you are not, it doesn’t matter.

• Download the downgrade firmware for your Samsung Galaxy device and extract it on your computer. A good source to download Samsung firmwares is Samsung-Updates. Type your device name in the search box at the sidebar, you would find it hopefully. If you do not get it, let me know (your device and country).
• Download and install Samsung USB Drivers on your computer. Skip this step if you already have it.
• Download Odin Firmware flasher and unzip it (if you get any error with Odin3 1.85, try the greater version): Odin3_v1.85.zip   or   Odin3_v3.04.zip
• Since the downgrading procedure will delete all data stored on the internal SD Card of your Galaxy device it will be better to backup your messages, contacts and installed apps. These nice free apps will help you backup your data easily.
• Charge your device’s battery to the full
• Make sure that you have turned on USB Debugging from Settings> Developer Options>.

One of the most notable feature of Android 4.2 is the ability to put any of your widget straight to your phone’s lockscreen. While praised by many, a large number of people also hated the concept. Next was the ability to add the camera to the lockscreen. This enabled the users to use the camera without actually unlocking the device. This whole concept can be seen as a security issue too.

Even though the device does really not need to be unlocked to use the widgets or rearrange them, one still has to unlock the device if they want to add a widget to their lockscreens. You can swipe left or right to use the camera and pictures can still be taken if the device is in unlocked state. Similarly, you can add widgets to your lockscreens and access them without unlocking the device by flinging the left or right on the lockscreens. The thing some people are concerned about is some of the widgets could disturb your privacy or could reveal some of your personal information to anyone who wakes up the device.

This can be overcomed now. Thanks to XDA member chislon, an app was released to Google Play recently, named ‘Lockscreen Policy’. The app is designed to get you rid of the forementioned things in a flash. The app lets you disable the lockscreen widgets as well as the camera with just a couple of clicks. This app is totally free on Google Play.

However, there are some limitations to this app as well. This app cannot disable the stock clock widget on the lockscreen and the music widget will also show up when you are listening to music. Unfortunately this cannot be overcome due to the Android 4.2 API but those who has got the root access can eventually disable the stock clock widget as well. There is an option for that called Clock Hack since the update 1.2.

For those who want to get rid of their lockscreen’s widgets, Lockscreen Policy is your ticket!

Be noted that this app needs the device administrator permission in order to work. When you start the app for the first time, press Activate and on the device administrators window, press Activate again. Now you can slide widget and camera sliders to on or off.

To smooth out skin tones, without turning a subject into a plastic person, you need to split the skin out from everything else in the image. This is done by creating a duplicate layer, which is used to overlay the original image. The duplicate layer will have the altered skin tones in it.

You’ll need to remove the key facial features from the tope layer (the mask layer). Take out the eyes, the mouth and the deeply shaded areas around the nose.

Now select all the skin on the top layer. This can be done easily by magnetically lassoing the face – and then going back with a brush to select any skin areas the lasso has missed. Make sure you have no hair, or any other feature, accidentally highlighted at this stage. It’s usually only the face you want to smooth off – this is tip one, really, for making a portrait that doesn’t look plastic. Think of the technique as similar to using a soft filter in the good old days of film: you’re focusing the viewer on the middle of the image.

Put a colour mask on the selected layer, so the selected face area can be seen clearly. Then use a noise filter to smooth out the skin tone. Clear the mask, and bring the bottom layer back to visible – you should now see that your image has smoother skin, but looks, overall, quite realistic.

It probably won’t be realistic enough, mind you. No one has completely uniform skin. So you need to bring a little artificial deepening back into the mix, to make the face more like a real person’s and less like an advert.

By lowering the opacity of the top layer (the mask layer, with the smoothed skin on it), you will begin to reinstate the natural blemishes and shadows of the subject’s actual face. Simply play with the level of top layer opacity until the image has the right blend of smoothness and reality for your taste.

Other skin tone problems, for example the white balance or lighting issues alluded to above, may have a separate solution. It is possible to use Photoshop or another digital image editor to change the white balance after the event, and also to perform basic changes to the RGB (red, green and blue) balance of the image; or to change overall colour warmth and intensity according to preference. Thousands of people have converged on Denver’s Civic Center for what organizers say is the largest marijuana celebration in the country.
